Like a bit of blues music? Well I now have my own radio show on a local Community Radio station in the Portsmouth area called Angel Radio. It broadcasts locally on 101.1FM, but is streamed on the net at http://www.angelradio.moonfruit.com/ all you need to do is click on the Listen Live button and you can select your listening preference (for Jay, that will be the OFF button).

The show goes out at 4:30 pm on a Thursday and because they cant get enough of me its repeated on a Tuesday at 7:30 pm.

Below is a selection of the type of music I'll be playing. The show is pre recorded so I will unable to do requests such as "get off" or cant you play "hip hop" or "garage"

This last one was recorded by Led Zeppelin amongst others, but this is the original version.

Good news Fossy :). Just wait till you have all the groupies.

Have just had a look at the gallery of presenters there, Fossy. You must be one of the youngest one there.

Thanks for all your comments, even Jay's (he cant help it poor soul he's still a little boy and waiting to grow up, mind you so am I at my age. Wont be long before you get old Jay.).

The station was set up for the benefit of older listeners with the newest records played released before 1960. It is a nostalgia station and I will admit not all of the music played is too my taste, but then you could say the same a lot of the national radio stations.

The station itself has won many awards and as well as a solid local listening audience it has many fans all over the UK and the world thanks to the internet. It is unique in its conception and as far as I'm aware is the only station of its kind in the UK.

I help out there on a voluntary basis 3 mornings a week and meet some wonderful elderly people who often pop in for a chat and a coffee. I have learnt a lot just listening and observing them. Although I'm only a young, nearly 60 year old some of these people are well into their 80's and are still getting out and enjoying life rather that sitting around moaning about the younger generation and talking about the good old days. In fact 2 of the presenters are involved with The Zimmers who you may recall had a hit with the remake of The Who's My Generation. I'm afraid growing old is compulsory but feeling and acting young is voluntary.

I often go to open mic/jam nights and the ages of people there range from teenagers to those well into their 60's and still rockin' and rollin'. Just ask Spyder a Rock'nRoll icon. He may have a few problems but as long as the brain can think young then thats as old as you will get.

Keep rockin'.
