Mine arrived by email and was there in the Inbox this morning!!
It says non-English sites in the newsletter - I assumed it meant local languages as the non-English sites are already there but in English!!
Also announced as coming in a couple of months the Ninja lister and the new look ebid site. All very positive!

If you send me a PM with your email address - would be happy to forward it to you.

"Thanks for having such a smooth invoicing program. I was able to combine invoices and add shipping discount easily. Also email myself a copy of the invoice at the same time. The invoice is clear to read and includes payment links to pay. Very good synchronizing I thought."

Site News & Updates
2009 has been a great year for eBid so far, the variety and count of auctions on the site has never been so great. Word of mouth and blog entries about the opportunities eBid gives to both buyers and sellers are more regular than ever.
We are also proud to announce being awarded best eBay alternative by Toptenreviews.com
As we progress into 2009 we have just released a set of site upgrades that are listed here. These include :
Sales Tax facilities for US and Canadian Sellers
My Bulk Edit allowing for mass editing of buckets of auctions
Mass closing of auctions via our spreadsheet facility
Google Maps added to About Me pages
Search engine upgrades to allow for better numerical searches

An exciting couple of months are ahead for us also as we launch the first version of our offline listing software "Ninja Lister".
We will also be launching our first non-English sites to help promote your auctions to a whole new world of buyers.
Most importantly the new look eBid will be getting it's first outing. Created by the talented people over at Cabedge.com we are very excited about this to say the least.

Missed a bit, so here is the rest:

Bargain Spotting
It's difficult knowing what to do these days, what with all the talk of global recession, so it's perhaps time to take stock of what is most important to you, as an individual, and stick to any resolutions you may have made. For savers losing out on interest this could be a good time to start trading online to generate extra income, compensate for that loss of bank interest, or perhaps start checking out investments in art or antiques as a way of beating inflation. You never know what bargains can be picked up on eBid online auctions! For those finding themselves cash-strapped, now is a fine time to clutter and earn extra cash from anything, no matter how bizarre, that's surplus to your personal requirement. For us, the general chatter over the festive season has included such subjects as cottage industries, DIY, crafts & sewing, home cooking, energy efficiency, heating and fuel prices. Home brewing or wine making is another hot topic at the moment, as are gardens, allotments and poultry keeping. Don't forget to keep the emergency supplies topped up in case of power cuts! Torches, candles, lighters, gas stoves and even barbecues and charcoal. An impromptu BBQ is better than no dinner when the power's out! Of course, if you're on the opposite side of the world from the UK, sun lotions may be more what you need right now.
Competition Time
Congratulations go out to our last competition winner Bookshed. You have just won yourself the much sought after selection of official eBid merchandise.
Would all entrants please note that in order to take part in our free competitions, your entries must include the following details:
1) Answer to the competition question
2) Your eBid username
3) Name and address for sending out any prizes
Incomplete entries are automatically deleted.
Closing date 19th April 2009. Email answers to competitions@ebid.net
Question
Question : What is the title of our general chat forum where users can chat about just about any subject?

Until next month,
Ed at the eBid Newsdesk

I wonder what the deal is with the "poultry" link? That was in the last newsletter as well, and it goes to about half a dozen auctions, then and now. I mean, nothing against the poultry stuff but perhaps they would be better served to link to a stronger sales area? Or maybe it just shows the members an area where there is plenty of room for more activity?

Overall I think the newsletter was pretty positive :)

What's that about power cuts? Do the boys know something that I am not aware of? I must start watching the news.

Yeah. The questions are a bit Breakfast TV complexity. Something to get the old grey matter working would be better.

As it is you may as well just pull a random name from all registered users. Then maybe inform the winner via their My eBid page. If they don't claim within 7 days (weed out the dump and dash brigade) add it to a pot for the next month.

The newsletter makes things sound good - but the bottom line is, Ebid still needs more buyers.

The recent changes, and forthcoming upgrades appear to be mainly aimed at improving things for sellers. Ok- new appearance to the site is coming - but buyers still have to find it first.

At feebay, many of the changes last year were aimed at improving the site for buyers. At the moment, buyers have no reason to leave that site - everything is in their favour. No neg fb, max shipping on some categories, free shipping on some categories, paypoo coverage on many purchases, and a ''helpdesk'' which 99% of the time favours the buyer.

I am not saying I know what the answer is, but the BIG prob is still getting buyers to this site, then getting them to stay here.

I wasnt getting the newsletter, I even changed my email addy thinking it would help but nope, then one day I got one and Im like "yayyyy" but that was the first and last - havent had it since again.

They should post it here in the forums as well so that everyone gets to see.

I did report the fact to support, but they just said let us know if you dont get it - how am I supposed to know I didnt get it, until someone mentions there is a new one?
I just give up! :o

Hello everyone. The newsletter made it all the way to Canada no problem. I was quite pleased to see a comment of mine also! :)
