well another way to look at it is this..instead of sitting about she is doing something positive...all advice to anyone who is ill..is always..stay focused...busy..keep your mind occupied...even if her new oh is a baddy (i dont know owt about him) the marriage has made her happy...she has every right to grab everything and anything that makes her happy at this point...the media would have made a circus of it anyway...
plus...she is bringing awareness to the disease...

I totally agree.

The woman is dying, she's grabbing as much cash as she can for her kids, the same as all of use would if given the chance. If you don't like it, don't read the media articles and don't watch the programmes about her.

The only people who seem mean and heartless are those who go on the attack on a woman who isn't going to be around much longer, you've got a whole lifetime ahead without her, why do you begrudge her her few months of headlines now? UGH.

I can see her point of view and it's a horrible situation to be in...I would want to leave as much as I could for my children in similar circumstances and I wouldn't care really what people thought of me.
Saw her on the big brother thing ( well repeats of the incident) and wasn't too impressed by her personality..but She must be going through hell and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I too have doubts about her new Husband, but that is their business and as long as the children are loved and cared for that is really all that matters now.
I am sure her advisors and family will have made sure legally that any monies made from her last media sessions will go to a trust fund for her children and the new Husband will not be able to take this away from them.

How do you mean? Covered by some government program because their sole parent is ill? Or because she already had money due to her fame?

I am unfamiliar with either of the two ill women mentioned in this thread but I've read a few articles about Jade this week, and it sounds like she is a person who has a knack for positioning herself in the spotlight. If she can channel that into something for her children and a massive increase in cervical cancer screening, why not?

I can think of at least 3 families locally who have had awful circumstances, and who have promoted their plight in the media. This has allowed them to raise money to put toward bills, and nobody seems to begrudge them their efforts. Is that just more common in the States, I wonder? I don't know anyone who thinks Jade is behaving badly in the face of her illness.

The landscape is littered with people who have come into big money and who have lost it just as quickly; could Jade be one of these people?

I think, money or not, most parents would do anything they could to provide for their children and it sounds like this girl is using the means she has available to her. The same scenario is certainly going on in many other households, but without the element of fame people are selling off things they never thought they would sell, are raising money through bake sales or raffles as they do here, whatever they can come up with.

It sounds from the article like Jade might not have come from a family setting where her parents had life insurance policies, and often people who come into quick money lose it as quickly to parasitic advisers. It is one thing to get an unexpected windfall and have a background in good asset management, and another to get the same windfall and then not know how to handle it wisely.

And her public profile has increased the cancer screening rate more effectively than the public awareness campaigns, according to the articles I read. I don't see how that can be anything but positive.

I think she lost a lot of money due to hangers on and bad business investments.

I say good luck to the lass, she wants her last act to be to provide for her children and to raise awareness about cancer. She's managed to do both very well and in my opinion should be admired for her fight and her compassion for those around her.

I too am a little worried about her hubby, I hope some safety nets have been put in place to make sure that he's doesn't wreck all Jades good work when she's gone.

I've never been a Jade fan but I have to take my hat off to the lass for the way she has handled this awful situation and faced death head on and concentrated on what she can do with what time she has left. A real example to us all.

Yes when jade won big brother it made her a lot of money, BUT after all the bad press she had after celebrity big brother, she had to live on her savings for nearly a year because the work wasn't coming in like it did before CBB. She has 2 very young sons & there are a lot of years to go until they reach 18, so the money she already had when she was diagnosed with cancer wasn't enough to see them through until they finish their education.
I have loved watching Jade ever since Big Brother, and i think she is a strong and very brave YOUNG woman, and i don't think i would be as brave as her if i was in the same situation.
I don't begrudge her anything that she's been doing since she found out her cancer was terminal, and i'm sorry but it makes me really angry when people try to put her down.
Why shouldn't she do the things she's doing now?
Why shouldn't she try to fulfil all her dreams now. Unlike many of us who have a lifetime to try to do what we want, she only has weeks.
I think what she's trying to do for her 2 sons is wonderful & selfless, to make sure they have the best life they can without her in it.
I just feel so very sad for her & her family.
It's just a tragic thing to happen to anyone so young

When you have had cancer your opinions and view of life change. Jade is doing what I believe any Mother would try to do and make sure her kids are alright. I've never watched Big Brother (can't stand that sort of TV), but what I've read in the papers, she hasn't had much of a childhood herself or education and wants to do right for her children.
As far as help when you have cancer in my opinion its all words and no practical help.

I don't watch relity tv, never saw her on big brother but her illness has probably prompted hundreds of young women to have a cervical smear, and I could say there but for the grace of God, because if I had not had that smear test when I was 26 I would not be here now.
and good on her for trying to do right by her children before she dies, so young, so much to live for, she may put on a brave face for the media but inside herself she must be terrified

I now have so much time for a young woman that has originated from an one of the worst childhoods imaginable,.. Now at the tender age of 27 years old has been given only weeks to live .. Instead of sinking into ' self Obsession' has made sure her children will never know hardship ... ps... I share the same thoughts about her boyfriemd ... within months he will find a new love... to ease his pain of course !!!!

Thoroughly agree. And Jade has made it clear the money is to be used to educate the boys so they are not frowned apon as being ignorant as she has in the past. She may never have been the brightest tool in the box but its always been clear that she has a huge heart. She deserves respect at a time like this.
