Just letting you peeps know that I have had to close every listing as some stock (not sure how much yet, hopefully not much) has been damaged due to ceiling collapse after tank burst. :(:(

Rather than run the risk of selling something that has been damaged, I am airing on the side of caution.

I will be doing a full stock inventry over the next few days and hope to be back in action as soon as possible.

So if you see nothing listed you know why, the same goes for being quiet on the forums.

Seems to be a hazard for eBid sellers. Didn't Merlin have the same a while back?

Not sure to be honest, I am 90% sure I will be covered for my "new" items but not sure about the other items.

Luckily most stuff was stored in either bags or plastic boxes, but as things are at the moment we not sure exactly whats damaged / ruined, so rather than taking a risk I thought it better to just close everything and start a fresh when Paul & I know whats what IYKWIM

does throwing (accidently) a cup o' tea over a laptop constitute the same thing?

Sounds like a leaky roof to me.or the kids let the tub overflow. but with a name of raindropsies sounds like needs more than an umbrella to protect the inventory. may have to have a discount clearance sale. oops check with the landlord..not a good issue to loose your inventory because of somebody elses neglect..whats with the rain drops???

This place of Business ?? are you renting it ?? or is it your own and cannot afford to fix because sales are down ?? Shining Stars

This place of business is my home where I live. It's rented accomodation, fixing the problem is not an issue, council will do that for free. But stopping the leak was quicker done by me rather than waiting for council to attend within 4 hours

Not a leaky roof, it was a tank burst (one of those cast iron / galvanised tanks)

Whats with the raindrops? thats confused me

I had my Rad burst in a un occupied bedroom just before christmas, was like a water fall in my front room, luckly it burst as i was in a the shower, so was able to sort it sort of quick, if it had gone early hours of the morning while we was asleep, could'nt imagine the damage it would of caused

luckly i was insured, so everything was paid for although it did take a bit of time

good luck rainy,

good luck rainy,

We stopped it leaking after about 3ish hours, we were hearing this tapping sort of noise and just thought it was kids until one of them came down and said their bed was wet, then the penny still didn't drop until I had a drip on my head:(

The only thing that I've had happen like that happened when I was away camping in mid wales for a week and a 'friend' was meant to be keeping an eye on the house.

The ball value in the header tank stuck open, and the water just kept coming in - it flooded the bathroom and airing cupboard immediately beneath the tank, which flooded the kitchen, and went on into the basement. I had a wonderful homecoming.

The laughable thing was the dogs - they came home, straight into the kitchen - then stopped, looked at me in that 'it wasn't me' look, thinking they would have the blame for the flood of water on the kitchen floor.

Very sorry to hear it too, Raindropsies. Maybe there is some sinister contagion going around: last week we had to have a hole jackhammered in our family room floor. We have a house on a cement slab foundation. There was a pinhole leak in a pipe that drained the water heater, under the slab foundation. So much water leaked out that it began flooding the kitchen floor. What a huge expensive mess to get fixed.

I hope you don't have a weakened floor now from the break. EEEEK. May the force of luck be with you.

I had the same thing happen last year, bedroom roof collapsed bed destroyed everything soaked right down to the kitchen below, same as you the tank in the roof, fortunately we were insured but as this was the 2nd time this happened we had the tank taken out and a eco combi boiler instead. Hope you get sorted soon Sarah. :)

Just re-listed charity items as these were not effected at all. Now in slow process of sorting through the rest.
