What setting do you have it on for quality? I have always used 8mp but by mistake I used 640 setting and photos flew into my gallery here.

Don't know Sarah, just click the button and take them, mind the camera automatically shrinks them before loading onto pc so I dont have to shrink any photos anymore saves sooooooooooo much time I do love wifey for buying the camera for me for Christmas :), and they load into my gallery pretty quick as well.

They say for web use pictures only need to be 72 dpi for display on a Mac and 96 dpi for display on a Windows machine and the eye cannot distinguish between the two when displayed on a monitor so the lower value is good for both.

I've never worked out how you correllate that to a camera setting. Personally I never worry about it. For use here on eBid I just take the picture and resize so that the longest side is 500 pixels.

I do something like that, or just upload the picture and let the software take care of it.

If your camera has a setting to lower the megapixels (MP) you can set it much lower and the pics will be smaller. FYI the huge pictures are great if you are going to print them or crop them. Otherwise, use the lower MP settings. Also some cameras have a setting to reduce the images before you download them to computer.

Love to all

Its a simple job to resize in Microsoft paint that comes with Windows, under Accessories. On the Menu choose Image/Stretch&Skew then enter a percentage in the box for horizontal and vertical, 20 should be about right. Don't forget to use "Save As" so you keep your original large file in case you want big prints.

Or I do know someone trying to sell a copy of Paint Shop Pro (hint hint).
