View Full Version : What would be your priority for 2009 eBid changes?
bykimbo

As requested I'll be putting on a poll to find out what would be the most popular changes of those suggested so far.
Unfortunately you can only have 10 options in a poll here, so I'm going to do some trimming first. These are the suggestions made:
emails to be sent explaining why listings or threads are removed
report listing feature needs a report seller option
a bulk marked as shipped,
a bulk leave feedback
a bulk picture uploader.
postcode-based searches
new ninja bulk-uploader
auction listings showing their bids when you browse the site.
site opened up to *buyers* from all countries worldwide.
more checks and control that items are listed in the right category
get rid of flashing 'r's
to be able to find out how many people are registered from each Country.
Translation for eBid countries that are not English speaking
an invoice/packing slip printing option
buyer or seller able to choose if they want a question displayed on listing when asked
alterable invoices.
proper section for all eBid messages in 'my eBid'
some proper advertising to get buyers in
bulk edit on all or selected listings
Please just let me know your one favourite of that lot, and I'll see if that lets me trim things down.
If not, I'll use plan B. :D
When I have a trimmed list, I'll post an official poll in the Suggestions forum, for Gazza to watch.
I've done a little editing on the list already to exclude duplicates and wotnot. Anybody unhappy with that... tough. :D
If you could *try* to keep this thread roughly on topic most of the time, that would help.
Okay... what's your favourite? Let me know!

THat would be my no 1

I didn't see it. I'll add it as 19 in the original post.

Hi Kim,
Number 9 for me.
There are 27 countries in the EU and we only allow access to 10 of them including the UK. Doesn't make sense really. We can sell to France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, but not Belgium. Also why Singapore, but not Japan? We are constantly seeing posts on here complaining about lack of buyers, so I think this really needs looking at. I love this site, and it's up to the individual if they want to sell overseas, but sadly, I can't really see this site competing with e**y unless it opens up a bit more.

I think they all have merit and believe any of the suggestions would help improve eBid.
But if I have to choose I would put 18, 10 and 2 at the top of my list with 11 right at the bottom. ;)

Why not do 2 polls, that way all of the 19 could be voted on?
If they were set as multiple choice polls everybody would get a full chance to show their priorities.

Because I feel that narrowing down the choices first will produce a more meaningful result. At 19 the votes are too spread.
Your suggestion was plan B, but I prefer to avoid it.

perhaps Pam herself holding up a placard showing the items with bids ?
..that..would probably generate a huge bidding frenzy...

I agree!
Unless ebid makes a concerted effort to emphasize a more universal appeal and can shake it's Brit image ( and this has nothing to do w the Brits here... it's the 'image'. ) growth will stagnate.
Many here have already seen the impatience of American Sellers.
This will not diminish except in the sense that they will leave ( and leave they will ).
I had ( as I stated before ) high hopes for Christmas here but they went for naught. I'm still here for the long run but I will not leave the Dark Side. As a small Seller there I still generated 2k in sales during the Christmas Season vs zilch here. Good company ( which is here ) is one thing...but Sales is what it's really all about.
Heck, I didn't even get my ebid T-shirt for Christmas!

I have voted selectively ;)
Which is a shame in a way as I really do think that all the suggestions have good merit so wanted to vote for all of them but in a particular order if you see what I mean. but seeing as we cant do that I've just picked my top five and voted for them.
It will be interesting to see the results.

Okay, I'm closing this (if the option works as I expect!) and we can discuss and vote in the same place.
