After eavesdropping on you all for a couple of months I thought it was about time I said hello. First, I want to say thanks for all the help and advice that is available from so many active members.

I don't like selling. But needs must and the devil is snapping at my heels. The pile of things that I want to list looks like a mountain. I don't expect too much from Ebid, especially in the present economic climate, but I do think that my things might as well be sitting here getting a bit of attention than at home, attracting dust. It takes me a few days to gather enough momentum to have one day of listing, then I have to have a few more days rest ! :o

So, is there a cure for procrastination ?

Death or will-power. :D But a step-at-a-time plan might be a more practical solution. :) Forget trying to do a whole day, or list a whole heap. Do one. Now. Stop reading this, pick up one item and list it. Now. Go on. Just one.

Haha

another lurker has been entrapped.

i find if you have say 10 similar items, do them first,

then go down the pile , 5 similar

4 similar ect ect.

then do the one offs

using the sell similar format works for me as you are only changing the minimal amount in the description and title.

big tip

upload the images you are going to use before listing.

finally

welcome to the mental association

the place were most people are just as mental as each other.

apart from Kimbo,

shes not mental,

shes a super mental LOL

LOL And shes got the cape to prove it!! ;)

Evening Quad! :)

As smiffy has suggested, the forum is the biggest distraction. I've enjoyed getting to know you all and I hope I will be able to contribute more. If I could just get to the end of my listings............

I don't know about anyone else but the biggest barrier I find to listing is coming up with a price. I have never been any good at judging an items worth. I hate selling stuff and then finding out I have pitched the price far too low. I don't mind people getting a bargain but not too much of a bargain at my expense.

I'm not sure of the answer to that one Kristina - I'll have to go away and have a good long think about it ;) then see if I can make up my mind which of the options, if any, looks good :o

Welcome to eBid - it's a pleasure to meet you :D

give yourself a small target, say to list 10 items a day, then once you get in the swing of it you can increase it to more without telling yourself and you won't even notice!

Hi Christina & welcome.
You have done the right thing checking out the forums they are very helpful caring people on here.
Don't expect to sell loads straight away it is quite slow on here.
However, the forums are fun & friendly.:)
