A DESPICABLE thief was caught on CCTV stealing a poppy collection box from a Doncaster shop counter.
The Royal British Legion container was taken from the Farm Stores shop in High Street, Carcroft, and is believed to have contained up to £30.

These xxxxxxx should be strung up. Or better yet - even though there will never be an opportunity for it to happen - they should be live to go through front line action - in mud filled trenches at Ypes, with chemical gas being blown in their direction, with bomb barrages going for 3 and 4 hours constantly, the threat of sniper fire, the threat of enemy mining companies setting mines / explosive under your medical facility / HQ, and the knowledge that the only way out is 'over the top' straight into the enemies rapid fire machine guns. You can't go back, cos you'd be shot for cowardice. After they've been attacked, having to listen to their collegues and mates calling 'medic' and not being able to get to them all because they are in muddy water filled shell holes up to their middles, or stuck in no mans land.

Sorry - but the horrors or the first world war are so vivid to me, its like I was there. It is why we remember and why we have the poppy appeal. To have some xxxxxxxx to this is beyond forgiveness.

Hey - thats an idea - I'm off to Nepal in 2 weeks with the Gurkhas - cath 'em before then and I'll take 'em with me for the Gurkhas to do their 'stuff'.

My local chairty shop, St Luke's was broken into twice in one night :mad: The only thing they stole, was the Poppy collection tin :eek::(:mad: about half full. The damaged to doors and the the till, was a few hundred pound :(

Not so intensely satisfying if you're bloodthirsty, but how about those exploding packets of PERMANENT dye that banks put into money. When robbers or thieves take them, their skin is brightly colored for days. The dye can't be removed. This greatly aids in capture!

I'm with the stocks and the branding. Stocks so you can give the slimeballs what they deserve (pelt them with tomatoes, but better to leave the tomatoes still in the tin). As for branding, brilliant idea - especially for paedophiles, it would do away with needing to do a police check on them.
