''fashion'' as far as I am concerned, is taking an item of clothing, putting a funky named label on it, calling it designer wear, and multiplying its value by 10.

Can kind of agree with you there but that is the same with everything TV, Computers, Ipods, Football kits, Food, everything once you put a name on it does increase the price but we cant control that. But I will say it lasts a hell of a lot longer, in the fashion world anyhow. Thats just my opinion my wife is not into labels but the amonut she spends and throws away after a few washes on unbranded garments she could fill her wardrobe with branded quality items.that will last her a few seasons.
But i respect your oppinion the group is for all areas of fashion branded un-branded designers jewellery handbags sports everything

I'm all for fashion.
I love dressing up for those special occasions..... BUT
I am afraid now I am not qualified to discuss fashion as I am of the age where :-
1) Warmth Matters...I am not into the philosophy on a Friday night out in town that Hypothermia Rools OK!
2) Skirts and trousers are chosen because of stretchy elasticated waistbands
3) My legs resemble an AA road map therefore unless fashion decrees leg cover-up, then I'm out of it.
4) I don't want to be haunted by the phrase "Mutton dressed as Lamb."
5) I can't afford new clothes...tend to use Charity shops...and they are more fun than Next or M & S!!
Seriously...I love seeing younger people dressing up...I love the Goths round here...they show great imagination and style.
I giggle at the catwalks as For all my 64 years I have never seen anyone walking round like THAT down our local or even in Town.:D
I was a fashion Guru at my college.. first to wear apache band and fringed suede miniskirt and top..... and go barefoot with Guitar over shoulder ( For impromptu renderings of the latest protest song )
I LOVED it....... So you youngsters GO FOR IT!
Dare to be different :D

I wore the first Maxi coat in town (over my mini dress )My sister and I had the first 'hot pants' (made them ourselves) and we had 'paper dresses' They were actually made of something that resembled interlining with a funky print on.
Now I like to disguise the lumps and bumps amd comfort comes before fashion. I do have to be fashion concious as I work in a cloyhes store, but I can generally find something that is ok for my age

I am only the sole of the party when drunk.
I will start some random topics soon I personally want to get inside the ladies minds regarding fashion as it changes so fast. But will ask on the group soon unless of course you want to start it off first:)

Great idea. Going over now :)
My vintage shop has loads of current season goodies for next to nothing but I dont think there is a market for it here. This is just the kind of thing I need.

Hi
I've joined your group.
Although like some of the others, i'm more into comfort these days :)
Although when i go out i do like to dress up.
I remember back in the day when i got my first BiBa Trench coat. I remember it was a purple colour & i loved it.
I also remember my Bay City Rollers Trousers, i just added a tartan strip down the sides :)
Anyway i look forward to seeing what the discusions will be in your group.
