A dolly one, that is ;) Or anyone who knows of one.

Here's my 'baby', Rosebud .....

I was given her, by my grandmother, as a first birthday present and she's in pretty good condition ........ :) except the rubber 'strings' holding her together have perished and she's now in bits

Does anyone know of a doll's hospital in the UK ? I'd love to see her 'well' again :D

Oh Gosh....that brings back memories. I had a rosebud doll when I was little...I loved her. The first clothes I ever sewed were for my doll. I eventually gave her away when I was older...to a little girl who I knew would love her just the same.

Hello stitchy:)

They are lovely, aren't they ? That's why I feel so 'guilty' that she's sitting, broken up, in a carrier back just now :(

I've done the 'googling' already and come up with the same as you .... I agree that the link you've given appears to be the best, but this is what they say on their front page

There are 404 patients on the Waiting List on 20/10/2008 - a wait of 22 - 23 Months.

Ooooooooh I've just noticed that they give links to other 'hospitals' so I'm orf to investimagate .... ;)

I don't know if Rosebud has regular rubber bands inside her that attach with hooks on the arms and legs or not- but I have repaired my Madame Alexander dolls by just using plain rubber bands to restring them. The easiest way to attach the rubber bands is by using a crochet hook to grab it and pull it down from the head to connect the legs and across with another one to attach the arms to each other through the body. You can also use thin elastic to make bands if you prefer not to use un-coated rubber, which tends to get gummy over time. Good luck! Oh and if you don't have a crochet hook you can fashion one out of a sturdy paper clip that will do the job :)
