It's a well known fact that if you pop your chocolate in the freezer for 10 mins all the calories get frozen and can do you no harm (you must eat it up quick though before it warms up and the calories become active again). Also chocolate when given as a gift becomes fat free. :)

Hi:
I changed the category to Auctions For charity/YDC. I was still a bit confused when I did it because it did not have a category for YDC59.
When I looked at YDC in stores section it said zero. What confused me the most was that I saw someones category and it actually said "YDC59" ; I think it was a store (? username:babsnray).

Can someone explain what the difference is between YDC; Yorkies Daft Auctions; YDC59. I'm new to the eBid charity auctions.

Well done! YDC is Yorkies Daft Auctions, also known as Your Donation Counts, and is a category in Auctions for Charity that we use every month, and is numbered each month, hence the 59 this month. We list in the auctions category, where you found them, but don't think anyone has a store for just YDC items.

Very creative and very organized. It helped a new person to the charity auction see the connection a little clearer.

You mean you actually used one of your stores main categories to develop your YDC lisings? That's excellent! See YDC matches with "Your Donation Counts", but "Yorkies Daft Auctions" matches YDA .
The auction category (YDC) is listed "Yorkies Daft Auctions (YDA).
So I was having difficulty making the connection. Yes, it would be easier to make a connecting link, because all the listings are together. Also you can easily edit your category by updating the monthly number.

Here you go burgyeb here's the history to explain things a bit better!
The history of YDC

The YDC charity auctions were started back in 2003 by YorkiesAuctions (http://uk.four.ebid.net/perl/normal.cgi?user=YorkiesAuctions&mo=their-all-about) (He also started the monthly charity auctions on ebay uk several years before too). The original name of the monthly charity auctions was Yorkies Daft Competition the reason being that forum members competed against each other to raise the largest amount for charity each month and Yorkie came up with the idea and ran the competition. When Yorkie had to stop running the YDC in late 2006 due to family and work commitments the name of the auctions were changed to Your Donation Counts. The YDC is currently run by Shezz (http://helpdesk.ebid.net/member.php?u=253859).
The YDC is open to all Ebid members and is a fun way to raise money for charity. YDC announcements can be found on eBID's Kitchen Table forum, and forum members are always happy to help new members wishing to take part in YDC. Each month the winner of YDC gets to nominate the following YDC's featured charity. Members may support the featured charity or support a charity of their own choice.

I checked out your link to "Charity Auctions" , yours came up different but together. That they were only charity auctions keeps the focus on the charity activity. I''m learning alot of different ways of setting up listings for the charity auctions.

YDC59 LOVELY WOODEN CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATIONS (http://uk.ten.ebid.net/perl/auction.cgi?auction=1222450708-11128-0&mo=auction)

YDC59 - NEW SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR = HAPPY TAX MAN ! (http://uk.ten.ebid.net/perl/auction.cgi?auction=1222448665-15430-0&mo=auction)

Thank you Cornishmaid:
This information is very helpful and very valuable. I feel like I have attended classes at the University of YDC. I believe there is enough concrete information located in this thread right now, that a brand new eBid Newbie could come in & understand alot of the history & the process of YDC. This is great! :)

lol...what are we like ?...:D and...what trip ?

I'm off to Nepal for 10 days in November - 2 days in Kathmandu for a QGE Reunion tamasha, 2 days in Pokara for another QGE Reunion tamasha, 4 days trekking, then back to Pokara (briefly), then back to Kathmandu for 2 days R&R, with 2 free days somewhere inbetween.
It will be my first holiday in 5 years, and first trip abroad in over 15 years, so I am really looking forward to it.

Ray, my hubby, who is even less computer savvy than me, is going to try and look after my stores, and looking after the dogs. Besides that he has terrible spine and knee problems, so he is unable to do the trip ... yippee. Freedom. I may never return, but take to the hills instead.

Jean, if on the homepage on the left hand side you click on "auctions for charity" and then at the bottom of the list Yorkies Daft Auctions, you should find them all rather than searching for YDC or YDC59 or whatever.

I've been out bid on 3 items ... Not fair. I'm giong to plan my attack and l think I'll have to revise my tactics.

My YDC items (http://uk.nine.ebid.net/perl/main.cgi?type1=a&type2=a&cat=205431&mo=user-store&title=Babs-n-Rays-Boxroom)- a safe bet to bid on so you're not bidding against me.

If you have trouble finding all the YDC auctions

You can go to the opening post of this thread and click onto the box and it will direct you straight to them all.

If you going from the forum, use this section which you will find above where it says start new search, just type in YDC* make sure you add the * to it, then click on the search button.

will bring up all the auctions running in the YDC

Come on folks, more bids needed on my Romantic Evening for Two :)

http://uk.nine.ebid.net/perl/auction.cgi?auction=1222626829-24650-0&mo=auction

Just to remind you.......

Spruce up your love life with this Romantic Evening for Two gift box.
Start with a hot candle lit bath with my specially blended Love Potion bath oil. Let the warm scents of Lavender, Rose and Jasmine relax you, opening your heart and bringing calmness to your soul.

Once bathed and dried (no need to get dressed!) light the exotic sandalwood incense and take turns massaging each other with a divine Lush Black Magic massage bar. Weave a magic spell around your lover then draw them close and only let them go when you've quite finished with them. (This may be the next day or it may be never; you can't tell.). Scented with ylang ylang, geranium and clary sage and covered in dark chocolate. Clary sage is said to help you see more clearly, to relax fully and bring out deeper responses. Geranium inspires warmer emotions.

Whats in the box....
1 Lush Black Magic Massage bar (once you try these massage bars you'll be hooked!)
1 10ml Love Potion bath & massage oil
Wooden massage stick (great on backs)
4 Glass t-light holders & t-lights
Pack of 25 Sandalwood incense sticks
& a few extra goodies but these are a suprise (some are edible ;))

Oh Right - I couldnt find my items when I searched for 'YDC' without the '*' - I was just trying to make it easier for newbies to find me - they might not think to add the '*' to the search term.

I can't get over the number of YDC auctions - what a lot of generous folk there are here.

This is my first YDC where I have listed anything - looks like this will be a regular thing for me now
