Hi, guess this is the best place to start...I'm an Ebay refugee wannabee, with 100% positive feedback of 1155...(same user ID)..I've just started looking around on Ebid, and I'm finding no listings similar to mine...I sell mostly old costume jewelry, and nice lots of mixed vintage jewelry...I'm sure I'll have many questions, but this one is #1...Any opinions would greatly be appreciated...I'm going to start learning the site today, since I know zero about listing here...In fact I don't even know that I'm posting right, lol...Thanks!

Hi welcome to eBid, OK to help you get started add a signature link to your posts so us nosey lot have an easy link to your items whilst reading the forums, read this thread http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=100959 then fill in some info on Your About Me Page so people know about you as a seller. Perhaps buy a few things to kickstart your feedback over here, always looks better than a zero, ( I have some nice cheap prints ;)) have a look at my listings to see how I dealt with the zero feedback problem when I started.
Then email all YOUR (not Greedbay's they are a venue, they keep telling us) customers, and tell them where you are, give them a link to your listings. Grab the records while you can and from paypal records as well. That should keep you busy for a bit, and shout if you need a hand. Additional body parts incur a small fee ;) Oh and finally read the forums there is a lot of useful information on here.
These threads may help opening a store.

Thanks folks! I think my question is: Why not any old costume jewelry lots on Ebid? Do you think there is a market for my items? I'm not interested in setting up a store...I'm a small seller, but steady..a widow who sells to supplement retirement..Thanks for the links, I'll start following your suggestions and get my feet wet, lol...I suppose my post was a bit premature...

There are no lots.. because no-one has listed any - it's as simple as that
Things tend not to sell so quickly as they do in the other place, but the costs are much lower. List at a starting price which you would be happy to accept, set them to autorelist and let it go. Seller+ is a good investment if you mean to list a lot.

Don't forget, stores are free for Seller+

If you try spelling it 'jewellery' (the English way) - and search - wthere are nearly 200 items listed!
Once again demonstrating we are divided by a common language!!

As it happens, I've been working another bit for my haphazard FAQ today, and it's sort of relevant, so I'll air it here: http://www.booksbykimbo.com/ebid/help/index.htm#widget
Might help, might not. That's rather the nature of my FAQ :D
