Am I charging too much for my knitwear, should I do a bid price with a reserve or is a buy now price OK, I have been a member of the gang for a couple of months now, and still chasing that first illusive sale. Have added a few nearly new clothes to bulk out my store was that a mistake!! Any feedback would be much appreciated. I will be making toys for Christmas soon and selling dressed dolls so fingers crossed I have better luck with them. I do not have my own website or facebook or blogs wouldn't know where to start with them {not very good with computers}, so I can't advertise that way. Any help would be much appreciated. Well I've had my rant now and feel much better. Have a nice day everybody

Hi Knitandpurl
The only suggestion I would make is to re-visit your auction titles. Think about the key words that peeps search for.
Words like "gorgeous" & "beautiful" are using valuable space.....whereas words like "premature" & "reborn" are more likely to get you hits from Google Products. ;)

Very true, I'd be putting the colour in the title more often. I notice k&p that you're trying to cover the bases with "handknitted" and "hand-knitted" which is good thinking - though both in one title when there's room will give even better coverage.
For your information and entertainment, if you're not sure what version of a word or phrase is most likely to prove popular, you can always do a google fight. :D

Hi knit&purl,
As OTVB said, make sure you're getting as many (relevant) keywords that buyers are likely to be searching for as possible in your title.
I'd advise against setting a reserve - buyers don't like them. Use the starting price as your reserve and a BIN price for those that can't wait.
Your prices look good and I'll certainly be looking on here for Christmas presents for 1 and 3 year olds.

You also might benefit from putting a few more items on. Several sellers have that once their listings bulked out a bit the buying started.

If you don't have room in the title to use both "handknitted" and "hand-knitted" , make sure you use the one you couldn't get in, near the beginning of your description.
I can't remember the exact number off hand but I believe google picks up something like the first 30 words so get the important (relevant) information there.
BTW some very interesting & heartening results when you do a google fight against sites on the PSU chart, especially the 2 above eBid, most rated by the Americans, & the site that still claims it's the second largest in the UK

Have altered my titles, I am adding items as often as I can, as you will appreciate they do take me some time to complete. Thinking of doing a few smaller items to bulk out my store, thanks again all for the tips
