Has anyone seen an increase/decrease in online/Auction sales according to the economy? Was wondering if internet sales and auctions have gained because people are traveling less and decided that the internet was a good way to shop. Post your input and let us know what you have experienced.

I must admit I'm getting more lookers, but not as many buyers. Could be because I don't have much experience on here, but even feebay was getting quiet when I left there.

It's been a strange sales force here in the US . My wholesale sales have gone up some, and I'm thinking it's because a lot of people are wanting hand made items from the country of origin. Lots of tourists asking for US made items when looking for trinkits. Last year I had almost no sales, but this year, when I send items, I get calls back from the retailers for more orders. Not a whole lot, but more than usual.

Lots more lookers, but sales are way down on last year.

Mine seem to be plodding along very much the same as always

Everyone is window shopping. Loads of looks but very few translating into sales, in fact my last sale, a 30p paperback, was nearly two weeks ago.

I did a repricing exercise and the Amazon sales suddenly quadrupled (although the effect is wearing off now), but it had no effect here at all, despite them being cheaper to buy here.

Ditto in the low sales department! But then again, it was slowing to a near standstill on that "other site" compared to previous quarters even BEFORE the asinine changes were announced.

The reaction to increased gas prices, increased postal costs, and some key grocery items, along with home values going down, and being foreclosed on, etc., (think Chicken Little) have MANY Americans cutting WAY back on "frivolous" purchases.

I've always noticed a slow selling trend over the summer months...for me it usually picks up in September/October....hopefully that trend will occur for me on this site?!?!? :)

I sell to other sellers and my sales have dropped by 30% on all sites that i list on.
But will say end of July an August have always been slow due to the holiday period, but down on last year on whole range of items under several differant names.
The exception is EBID where my sales are up on last year.

spineywood: Do you make those pens yourself?

I love your products, I love the beauty of natural wood, I just can't see anywhere I would use most of them...
