The Black Swan was nice - my art course was in three parts in September, November and February - each a week long, residential at that pub. The first and second weeks were there but the third we were at a country club in Pease Pottage (Nr. Crawley) because of refurbishment at the Black Swan. I think they are moving the courses back to there in the future so I may be back to do additional training.

Yes it is - about 3 1/2 hours from here - it's roughly an hour (M25 permitting!) to my nieces and then another 2 1/2 hours from there (I think).

Just hope I don't get lost, although I went up there with my brother last month for my dad's birthday and it seemed fairly straightforward.

My dads family all came from the Islington area, so I've got a bit of Londoner blood in me.

Mind you the Pompey accent is'nt dissimilar to a London one, coz were dead common down 'ere mate.

Arundel noted for the lack of anything but antigue shops and the smell of dogs muck in the summer.Expensive tea rooms and a killer of a hill.

Bit of trivia if you didn't know already - the song "Road to Hell" by Chris Rea was written about the M25

razamakaz

Nero's father was the UK field champion when we got him - his father's name is Craighorn Bracken, but Nero has Drakeshead grandparents too. His pedigree is phenomenal, although we never continued the gundog thing with him - we just wanted another labrador and fell in love with him.

CoastalCoder
14th June 2008, 06:04 PM
Milly has a good pedigree but that had nothing to do with why we got her, was just a friend of a friend and she was so cute (we didn't even realise until after we got her and I looked it up)... I used to do a lot of agility with Milly but the place we used to go closed down. I still do some stuff with her on the beach on the break waters and stuff... she likes seaching for stuff if you go and hide it too, although she's actually not very good at it (you almost have to lead her to it sometimes...)

razamakaz
14th June 2008, 06:15 PM
Our Nala could find a needle in a haystack. She was amazing.

Once, really made me laugh, I went to the park with her and realised when I got there I'd left her ball at home. She was standing in her stance, one paw up (like she did) and so I thought I'd throw a pretend ball. I did a throwing action and off she darted into the distance.... and came back with a tennis ball!

Now that's clever! LOL

I love labradors, because they are generally so very well tempered.
We got a nasty one around here at the moment though - attacks small dogs!, broke a pedigree puppy's leg a couple of months ago.

As far as the topic of this thread I am in North Bucks, which is neither east nor south east nor Midlands - so which one should I vote for.?
Could of course go for Netherlands (other country) instead, as that's where I was born.

Aw Shezz, that is so sad.
Although I wouldn't like a dog or any other animal as a pet, I do like dogs, even "nasty ones". My cousin used to have a rothweiler and she was just a big softie.
My neighbour came over today quite upset. She had a letter from district council environmental health dept complaining about excessive barking. We are trying to figure out who might have complained about her! The silly woman had the guts to ask me if it was me:eek: I love her dog to bits and you never ever hear it during "anti social" hours.
