Good morning all,

Yesterday I listed a brass door handle with gallery. I have 2 of them so I used the sell something similar option and relisted it without gallery.

It was listed, then strangely disapeared! I listed it again, and the same thing happened. Why is this?

Are you sure you hit the submit new Auction Button on the floating Widget thingy! (I have hit the wrong button on that a couple of times)

I would have thought so Red, as it did show on my listings for a while.

Hi Welcome to eBid
Your second item disappeared because you are not allowed to list the same item twice with or without gallery.
You should have set your original listing for 2 items not one which would have been as a dutch auction. This is done to prevent the same listed item appearing again and again as it bores buyers to have to plough through pages and pages of the same listing as can be seen on the other side.

Hope that helps

Oh, thanks. Thats a pain. Can I change it to 2 for sale? If so do I double the price on the listing or is that worked out for me?

No you don't double the price - the price you state is per item, the quantity is two.

No your choice is to set 2 at the same time therefore ask what price you want for the 2 remembering to adjust your post and packing charges or to list as individual items therefore list as dutch auction where a buyer can buy one and leave the other for somebody else to buy.
I suggest if that was a free auction at the start (only varied on FVFee) then to close that auction and relist altering to what you want to do
Hope that helps

but.... you can not increse the current auction from 1 to 2 items as it changes the first auction to a dutch auction... the only option is to end the first auction then list simular and increase qty to 2....

as a foot note you can not lower a dutch auction from qty X to 1 either.

Now I am completely confuddled!

Close you listing

Relist as 1 lot/item of 2 handles

or

Relist as dutch auction of 2 items so selling only 1 at a time

ok.. what you need to do is to close (not delete) the existing auction - then repost, editing it to be a dutch auction with the quantity 2

 Isn't that what she want's to do Somerset? Change the original auction to a Dutch one by changing the number from 1 to 2 ? The second advert has vanished so she needs to change the original one so that two people can bid on it !

:D Ooops! Didn't spot there was a second page already!

The original listing would have been for one item and you cannot alter that to a quantity of 2 because that means a change of auction type. So the only alternative is to end the existing listing (provided you did not pay a fee) and go to your 'auctions I ran: unsold', select that listing and choose sell similar. Then edit the new listing to have a quantity of 2, the price is per item and relist. :)

I've just been in and clicked on the Relist Something Similar option and it automatically relisted the same item without any amendments. I have now got 2 identical items listed on my auctions without any problems.
