I got an idea for something I want to put on youtube.
It is not actually a video - something along the lines of the following
http://youtube.com/watch?v=nf14CEHv__c
I am only using that one as an example of the kind of thing i want to do. Not a video - but in a way it is a video - using words instead of actual film, like the one in the example.
If anyone can advise me what software etc, or how to go about it, can you please send me a private message.
I will at some stage if i get this started, be asking for some quotes from buyers and sellers.

Can't view that video.
If you mean a slideshow or presentation that is viewed as if a movie, then I create lots of them on my Mac using Keynote - it exports to many file types.
When you say you'll be asking for quotes, what do you mean, exactly?
Asking for Private Messages is a bit rich, we get to share knowledge on open forums, that's the way of things.

yes - more like a slideshow.
As for the private message thing - that is totally up to me to request that.

Yes, it's totally up to you to waste people's time with PMs - discussing software is hardly sensitive knowledge. How irksome of you to think it warrants a special message just to you. And it's up to me to share my (low) opinion of such a childish request.
Goodnight and Goodbye, I shan't be wasting any time here.

Those are the kind of responses expected in another forum.
Who the heck are you to tell me what I can or cannot request in here?
I have my reasons for that request - and I am not obliged to discuss those reasons with you.

magnets, as you are getting such unhelpful replies here, try the pcadvisor boards. I've found them very helpful on techie stuff.
